Traveling the State, Educating Texans about Energy Issues

In 2010, eight trade associations and non-profit organizations turned to G. Fox Consulting to design, launch and maintain a statewide community-based education initiative to educate Texans about energy issues. Our team travels the state weekly, delivering speeches, hosting informational roundtables, and engaging one-on-one with residents, local elected officials, school district officials, chambers, workforce development entities and civic organizations. The program has resulted in thousands of personal, actionable relationships.

The Assignment:

In 2010, eight trade associations and non-profit organizations turned to G. Fox Consulting to design, launch and maintain the Joint Association Education Initiative, a statewide community-based program to educate Texans about energy issues.

The Results:

Our team travels the state weekly, delivering speeches, hosting informational roundtables, and engaging one-on-one with residents, local elected officials, school district officials, chambers, workforce development entities and civic organizations.

We wrote the publication, Oil & Natural Gas in Texas, as the anchor resource for our educational outreach and there are currently more than 20,000 copies in circulation in Texas. In a typical year, our team participates in 260+ individual meetings with community leaders, delivers at least 20 speeches and hosts monthly educational gatherings. The program has resulted in thousands of personal, actionable relationships and has been adapted for several states nationwide.

Organizations that participate in the Joint Association Education Initiative include the Texas Oil & Gas Association, Texas Pipeline Association, Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, Texas Royalty Council, Panhandle Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Permian Basin Petroleum Association and the South Texas Energy & Economic Roundtable.
